In case you missed it, the hosting providers @fedihost@mstdn.social make nice video tutorials for Fediverse admins. They're easy to understand and mainly aimed at admins using managed hosting:

In short: The videos are not being shows on the peertube instance to other people on the instance unless you interact with it. So people like and comment and share the videos you watch on PeerTube. There is nothing wrong with shameless advertising of libre stuff. In fact we should do more of it.

As far as I've researched #Meilisearch is capable of delivering the content that already #SepiaSearch indexes.

Each video will open in its original instance i.e. new tab.

Bonus features:
- "Subscribe" to channels by just storing them in localStorage and influence the Meilisearch ranking
- Related videos (unfortunately requires OpenAI API key) API that can be also embedded to the #peertube instances

It was scheduled for release in August 2025, but due to the authoritarianism of the UK 'Labour' government screening it can probably get you arrested. #FuckStarmer

That's why it's important that this documentary is made available in other ways, such as here on the #Fediverse

This is going to be a long rant. So buckle up.

MOST (not all) people on the Fedi don't support PeerTube content.

They might see a video in their feed, but they aren't going to watch it. And they DEFINITELY aren't browsing anyone's PeerTube instance to find videos to watch.

Everyday I see really well made videos get 14 views after a week. Even if I go to one of the more popular instances I see videos that have been up for 6 months with only 400 views. And yeah, that seems like a lot.

The real power of #peertube will shine as more people will use it.

There is one problem of peertube at the moment. As you mentioned great videos exist with almost no views.

I'm thinking about forking and refactoring #SepiaSearch to build a centralized frontend for peertube so that videos become more discoverable.

So...our instance is getting pretty big! 馃槄

While things are running pretty smoothly at the moment, we need to start thinking about moderation and instance improvements. Right now, the server is largely maintained by one guy ( @deadsuperhero ).

Funding is pretty stable for now, with the majority of operational costs being covered. This does not account for future upgrades or expansion. With that being said, Spectra.Video is growing rapidly. #PeerTube
