Once again, I find myself begging FOSS folks to recognize that open source is, by construction, a political movement. The onus is thus on us to make sure that our politics are in keeping with our actual values.

@davidgerard I'm actually really confused by this. Does Altman's publicist actually hate him and he doesn't know? Every photo of Altman has him looking like a clown, and yet Musk somehow manages to get everyone to thumbnail their articles with him smirking and mugging like some white supremacist Urkel (that adorable little scamp).

it's true that some invertible symmetric-key cipher A(x) may not support going through A^-1(x) and then being "reciphered" (i'm not sure whether that's a desirable property--i think not?). but most of the time they do work that way. invertible functions are in fact easier to use this way!

Banks and other financial institutions are largely clueless about the operational reality of cybersecurity as they exist in a bubble of near limitless budgets compared to other sectors - they don’t deal with real incidents at the same scale as elsewhere as they’re in control ivory towers. They’re the least intelligent voice to be inputting about cyber future.

Je veux dire: Pas juste l'outils technique, mais tout ce qui va avec : Pilotage par Microsoft, communauté (et son évolution), forcing de l'IA, application des lois américaines (des projets GitHub ont été tué via DMCA, une loi purement américaine, alors même que ces projets étaient légaux dans le reste du monde).

Le rachat de GitHub par Microsoft n'est absolument pas neutre sur l'outil GitHub.
