The US making an enemy out of Canada is as stupid as Denmark making an enemy out of Sweden — something we quit doing 306 years ago, back when The United States did not even exist yet.

Really didn’t think that so many American and European tech people who had grandparents heavily affected by a world-wide war started by fascists would choose to become fascists, but here we are.
I like the way you think.
I like the way you move through the world with a permanently bewildered expression, as if you're only now beginning to understand the true depth of the horrors.

There is a right time and a right place for everything - including card games.
Conversely, there is very much a wrong place and wrong time for card games.

@juergen_hubert Okay but I feel like the church and congregation didn't deserve to deal with that literal huge bloody mess in the building... Then again maybe they did, in the eyes of God and the Devil, for allowing the sacrilege.

This is a Ruckers mother-and-child virginal—a 17th-century keyboard instrument with a second, smaller instrument built into it, tuned an octave higher. The “child” could be pulled out to play duets or set on top of the “mother” to add a jangly, buzzing color to the main sound—a Renaissance-era layering trick, centuries before mixing desks. Antwerp instrument makers were doing this in the 1600s.

I think a loose translation of the motto is:
