The painting depicts a female giant (jättinna), picking up a viking warrior. Her name is Gerd (Gerðr) and was famed for her beauty. The God Frey fell in love with her.

The warrior is trying to tell her something important, but she is not very interested in the affairs of men...

I liked the sketch so much I got a bit carried a way and painted it before making sure the drawing was correct. So there are several technical problems with this drawing, perspective and so on. I still like it a lot and want to do more drawings in this style. There are also problems with the colors of the clothes, and the size of the giantess. Norse giants are not supposed to be nearly that big.
