Our old gas oven really could use replacing, but right now I'm not able to find an induction range that is:

1. From a retailer I'm not leery of
2. Has dials
3. Has no "smart" features
4. One that looks nice. And not too expensive </knights of ni voice>

Frigidaire has a really nice line of non-smart appliances but paradoxically they all have the stupid touch-sensitive controls. If they put out one with dials, I'm buying it.

@tante Some people are just refusing to accept that AI can be used as more than a productivity tool but rather something that can enable amateurs to quickly achieve professional quality work while COLLABORATING with others. And that for me is intellectually disonest. Have you asked people who collaborate and share prompts, workflows in subreddits if they believe that what they are doing is just for productivity's sake? I hate this kind of snobbery and I believe it's intelellectualy disonest. I don't even have patience to deal with this stance, after spending my working days trying to reach the most professional level of quality while using two or three LLMs, just to improve the quality of my work as a technical writer from what it was previously possible. And that's also why I find these kinds of posts offensive to me.

VPN knowledge I just learned: I realized today that Google could still see my real location, even though I should be in Sweden. I was surprised - I thought this was the point in having a VPN, that sites couldn't see where you were coming from?

I discovered there is location sharing settings in both my MacBook's settings as well as specific settings for my browser (Firefox). Once both were turned off, my real location disappeared.

FYI this wasn't obvious at all - most sites still registered me as being in Sweden. Even my Google search results were from there - however at the bottom of my search results page, was a location designation listing both Sweden AND my real location in Oregon, USA. I wouldn't have realized Google was able to see this, and go fix that, if I hadn't noticed that small print.
