It's so much more convenient to look around the laptop using a working keyboard, instead of a half-broken laptop one.
Hrm. The entire disk is ~465.8GiB, according to lsblk. On my desktop, there's /storage/legacy/win8, for whatever reason, an 508GiB partition. I can probably save what little I need from that partition, and then plonk the laptop's backup there.
That gives me time to go over whatever's on the laptop, and select the bits I want to save.

The worst thing about jetlag is that your mind and brain are not quite connected to reality. Stuff happens that never would if you were fully aware. It's dangerous. Think twice or three times before you do anything, even crossing a road, and make no final decisions. Try to do nothing for as long as possible.

When I was a kiddo about 10, I”d tune in Fresno Air Terminal on the aviation bands, and when the Watts Riots broke out in SoCal, I had a rooftop long-wire antenna hooked up to it and listened to LAPD in my Fresno bedroom. My dad caught the aviation bug listening to DC-3s inbound to KSFO and KOAK.
