One of the outcomes that programming produces is understanding.
By building a system you gain knowledge about it as it is created. There's probably no better way of gaining that information. I would even argue it's the more important outcome than the actual executable code.
Using "AI" coding removes this outcome entirely, so why should I ever want that?

Exploratory programming is a valuable way of learning more about the shape of the problem, and its interactions with the solution space, too.

It’s almost always ended up saving time, because what people don’t understand is that writing is a tool for structuring thinking, just as writing code is.
