TIL the term “dry run” originated with firefighters in the late 1800s; a dry run was a practice without actually turning on the water hose. The opposite term, a “wet run,” was also used.

Actually it's extremely fair to ostracize team members who support ethnic cleansing.
Ethnic cleansing is a form of genocide and as such is a crime, not an opinion.

"Many" years ago (around 2020) when #flatpak was not as developed as today, I was ranting about the disk space that the flatpak runtimes took on a person's device, particularly if:
- you mixx KDE and GTK apps
- if app devs don't update their apps as fast as the EOL of flatpak runtimes
- If you have to have dev runtimes on top of that
The answer I got at the time from a flatpak community member was: "storage is bigger and cheaper every year".
Fast forward to 2026 in the age of AI...
@maryjane yes... But what to do? I really do want more of my stuff to be sandboxed these days. Adding funky PPAs is quite annoying... No one likes snaps, and appimages really don't integrate well.
What do?
We still have a lot to move and we’re all exhausted. Flynn, one of our kitties, decided he'd like to walk through the new house crying all night. I finally go up at 4AM hoping I could get him to calm down. It didn't work. He'd come sit with me, get bored, and go back to crying.
Our cell connection at the new place is terrible and often drops. I didn't expect that. Internet connectivity isn't going to be hooked up until September 12. 🤣
