A massive flash flood has torn through the Himalayan nation of Nepal, sweeping away entire villages and severely damaging roads, bridges, and power infrastructure in a region bordering Tibet, authorities report.

I think the reason roadkill fucks me up emotionally is that it's a gap in the wall I build between my everyday existence and survival vs my mental model of the ecological catastrophe that's going to dominate our lives for the foreseeable future. I have so much grief about all the animals driven to extinction, the animals fleeing from and dying in forest fires, suffering in heat waves, the mollusks whose shells are softened by rising ocean acidity. But if I let myself experience those feelings, I can't function. And if I don't function I'll be homeless.
I hate it here. And by here I don't mean the planet, I mean this fucked up capitalist system.

🟡Ситуація в Слов'янсько-Краматорській агломерації
🏹 Найбільш активні дії розгортаються навколо Костянтинівки, яку ворог невпинно намагається окупувати. Вже не можна сказати просто, що вони її штурмують і ведуть бої на околицях, адже здійснюється активне просочення в місто і наші військові змушені проводити постійні зачитски противника, який ховається в будинках, підвалах, руїнах тощо. Після зайняття Іллінівки, яку кацапи використовують для просочування в місто, ворог почав розширювати зону контролю, просуваючись західніше, щоб збільшити мішок навколо Костянтинівки. Однак в найбільшій небезпеці зараз знаходиться Часів Яр, який огортає своїм навколишнім контролем противник. В самому місті вдається утримувати позиції, але якщо впадуть фланги, зокрема, на ділянці вище, то угрупуванню в населеному пункті Часів Яр прийдеться не солодко.
▶️ Окремо варто звернути увагу на ділянку в районі Слов'янська. Наразі є два важливі населені пункти, які перебувають в увазі ворога для просування в напрямку міста — Райогородок і Миколаївка. Якщо перший впевнено тримається, то в другому є неприємні дзвіночки у вигляді просочування противника. А це ознаки прощупування слабких місць з боку противника, якими він обов'язково скористається. Українським пілотам вдається успішно знаходити ворога та знищувати його, однак є проблеми з відслідковуванням, адже є неодноразові фіксації проникнення. Наразі питання викликає населений пункт Крива Лука та її район, де присутня фіксація противника. Також важливими точками закріплення для противника є населені пункти Оріхуватка та Рай-Олександрівка. До першого противнику варто ще добратися, а от в другий є просочування з успішним знищенням противника. Рай-Олександрівку вдається тримати під контролем і не давати ворогу закріплятися, але робити це стає дедалі важче з відсутністю достатньої кількості людей. І це стосується всього району утримання для бригад, які там стоять.
🔄 На щастя, відбулася зміна керівництва 11 корпусу, яке в подальшому, маємо надію, покращить обстановку в зоні відповідальності. Противник готує підгрунтя для розвитку наступальних дій на Слов'янськ і Краматорськ, про це ми писали раніше. Зокрема, йде знищення міст та агломерації постійними обстрілами. Наразі необхідно втримати ситуацію під контролем, щоб не дати побудувати кацапам можливості, які стануть в майбутньому фундаментом просувань до останніх великих міст Донеччини. Тому на новому командуванні корпусу лежить велика відповідальність не допускати помилок попереднього керівництва.
📌 Також важливо контролювати ситуацію на відтинку від Малинівки до Майського, де противник може використати місцевість для просочування в напрямку Краматорська. Раніше через недостовірні доповіді загроза була доволі високою, але зі зміною керівництва це потроху стало виправлятися. Сподіваємося, так буде й надалі.

At least (update: 17) lives have been confirmed to have been lost, but based on what information I can gather, the count for missing people could be in hundreds, if not thousands.
Me and my family are not in the affected regions, however a huge number of people from a community that one of my Uni friend is a part have been affected, and are missing.

Dutzende Tote bei Sturzflut auf Hochebene in Himalaya
An der Grenze von Nepal zu China hat eine Sturzflut zu dutzenden Toten geführt. Hunderte Menschen werden noch vermisst – man fürchtet viele von ihnen könnten in den Wassermassen umgekommen sein. Unter den Vermissten sind auch 400 Bergsteiger. Ursache für die Sturzflut scheint ein Erdbeben gewesen zu sein, welches durch einen Felssturz einen Fluss blockierte, der sich wiederum einen neuen Weg durch bewohnte Täler suchte.
