Ukrainian Maidan, squeezed over the line and going strong despite 2014+2022 invasions by russia 🥳
Hong Kong anti-dictatorship mass protests → crushed by the CCP 💩
Burma/Myanmar protests → civil war, struggling military dictatorship backed by CCP and russia 💥
Now Nepal youth/social media takeover (!) → ??
In the 1990s Nepal dumped the (Hindu) royalty, elected pro-CCP communists, became a vassal of the CCP while depending on India...
Now they're between the aggressive CCP and the hindu-nationalist India with both vying for influence/control. 💥??
(+ many more anti-regime uprisings which haven't changed the status quo)

I apologize for the ABBA music, that's modern social media for you. But here's a drone shot of the "#GenZ" #protests / #revolution in #Kathmandu#Nepal
What's this
#Nepali coordinating #revolution on #Discord, almost 10,000 on one conference call
They're calling it the "#GenZ" #protests. It was sparked by a crackdown on #SocialMedia but the base frustration is #corruption, #nepotism, #unemployment, and #inequality. 19 protesters were killed on Monday, I'll spare you a viewing of that video, and Tuesday #Parliament and the #SupremeCourt were set on fire. The prime minister has resigned. The government has fled.

Nepal's army took back control of Kathmandu on Wednesday after the worst violence in two decades ousted the prime minister and left the parliament ablaze, enforcing a curfew and starting talks with protest leaders. Speaking on FRANCE 24 from Kathmandu, Political Scientist Chandra Dev Bhatta says that the outlook is very uncertain as protesters are divided and the movement has been hijacked by various interest groups.

It's hard to tell from that NYT article what the situation is in Nepal. This sheds a bit more light;
