@embr what happens mathematically is the window is multiplied in the time domain („no window“ just mesns rect window) and mult in time domain becomes a convolution in frequency domain. So what happens is you get as the result your signals fft convolved with the windows fft. Since the rect windows fft has a ton of very strong side lobes it spreads a lot the energy from each bin very far to all other bins (unless your signal components happen to all perfectly fall on fft bin frequencies). Hann or honestly any commonly used window has a wider main lobe but far smaller side lobes in frequency domain, so instead of generally smearing components all over the spectrum, it deliberately smears them but in a very localized way.

I just made a fix to my bb_epaper library to make it easier to support random #Linux SBCs. I added the ability to specify a GPIO "Chip number" other than the default of 0. On the Radxa Rock Pi 4B+, the connections needed to control many display "HATs" are on chip #4. Here's the C++ example code used to generate the photo:

@hipsterelectron Huh? Generating large prime numbers does not require "factoring large prime numbers" (I guess you meant semiprimes but even then it's false). The scale of the primes you need for cryptographic use is far beyond anything that could be factored. Generating random primes is done with primality tests. There are ones that are fully deterministic, and others that have vanishingly small probability of being wrong (but you can still follow up with a deterministic test if you like after picking a candidate).
