Budget & Blood: How Night of the Living Dead Won

Giraffe and Bovine Petroglyphs, Neolithic Period (c. 8000 BP), Wadi Mathendous, Libya.

@globalmuseum I'm puzzled by the large difference in style between the deep, smooth, I want to say confident outlines of the giraffes and the very different look of the horned animal (gnu?) off to the left.
A shame that the article is paywalled. I'd be very curious about the explanation for that.
The giraffes, and a similar elephant in the wikimedia set of files, look almost modern because of that. Plus the way none of the cracks in the rock have affected the engravings much. Very odd for something 8000 years old.

Now Macpherson was a bandit who terrorised people he was arrested in the town where I grew up funnily enough. But the fact that he played music, allegedly composed his own lament, and the authorities broke the rules to stop him; makes me think that the reason why it's still part of folklore is that people don't like authorities breaking the rules. Robert Burns adapted his lament. https://www.scotslanguage.com/articles/node/id/449 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Macpherson
I was inspired to dig out the old post due to this cracking performance of the Rant.
Often its performed as a lament, when it's kinda defiant. It also pronounces MacPherson correctly.
