At this point, the Google Play app review process has become a security liability. I have had an app update for #Conversations_im in the review queue since April 28th. Previously, app updates have been rejected for stupid, hallucinated reasons; this time, we are just being ignored entirely. The release is not shipping any security fixes, but imagine if it did.
"Ben Rhodes, inhabits some fantasy world where America is a source of light for the world—as long as people from his side of the aisle are in charge."
Isn't this just standard issue PMC liberalism?
The bike industry ignored dynamo lights for years – now they're finally going mainstream www.bikeradar.com/features/opi... Once the preserve of hardcore tourers and audax riders, the bike industry is finally taking dynamo lighting tech seriously

@edfoc.bsky.social I have an old dynamo light and it's incredibly depressing that they don't have any kind of battery or capacitor to keep the light on when I stop at a junction. I have a second battery-powered light for when I stop, and that's annoying.

Good one.
Finds ja irgendwie auch ne nette Abwechslung, wie diszipliniert die Informationskontrolle beim Hanta-Ausbruch ist.
@Fischblog Informationskontrolle?!?!? 😳 DIE DA OBEN VERHEIMLICHEN ETWAS!!!!!111einself 😁
Who thought it was a good idea to do security audit's on the most popular github actions first thing on a Monday morning 😓
When considering building a local-first app it's important to know which parts the stack "just work", and which are still experimental.
In this post on the @PrototypeFund blog we give an overview of the various moving parts, using Reflection as an example: https://www.prototypefund.de/en/blog/the-road-to-a-local-first-app-ecosystem
Since the war began, thousands of Ukrainian children have been taken to Russia against their will. We are co-hosting a major event this May to change that.
Working with Ukraine, Canada, and EU countries, we want to:
🔵 Bring these children back home to their families.
🟡 Make sure they get the help they need to recover.
🔵 Hold Russia accountable for these actions.
We are doing everything we can to ensure these children have a future back in their own country. 🇪🇺🇺🇦
@EUCommission how can we delete the EU? It's reminding the worst times of the continent, supporting nazi countries like current Ukraine and Israel.
Lots of people talking about buying solar panels. Alas if you look online there's a lot of retailers with all sorts of panels for sale, not all of which are honest. Want an easy way to check if the listed power output is plausible?
Example using a 50w panel listed on Amazon. It's 370x820mm.
Step 1 calculate the area in square meters. (0.37*0.82=0.3034)
Step 2 multiply by 1000w. (0.3034*1000=303.4)
Step 3 assume 20% efficiency and multiply (303.4x0.2=60.68)
60.68>50w. It's Plausible.
@quixoticgeek @ShaulaEvans That is GOOD info. Thank-you.
Yesterday I watched a trailer for a new Ghost In The Shell movie.
Took me about 30 seconds to fall of that cliff. What I like about the OG Ghost In The Shell movie is it's clean, adult look and feel. It's an animated movie with story and heart and soul made for grown ups.
That trailer looked like a blend from generic anime and The Simpsons.
I'm not even going to bother linking the trailer because if you loved the original you should not wast any second on that. IMHO
@SunDancer for me the whole franchise is a victim of expanding a story to where it doesn't leave enough to the viewer's imagination.
The first movie was perfection, giving us just a glimpse into an interesting cyberpunk universe, but not enough to make it mundane. Even the second movie still preserves this sense of mystery, but the series, in my opinion dismantle these mythical characters into regular people with more or less regular lives.

@s1m0n4 tutto possibile.
Oppure non sanno che le attività hanno gli orari esposti.
Oppure non hanno voglia di leggere e chiedere è più veloce.

Great idea: A web page that simply shows you the info your browser shares about you and your system whenever you open a web page.

@petersuber wow. Using a degoogled phone tried with iode browser and brave. Using my normal VPN it got my location correct as well as everything else being correct or real close.
Switched to tor and it got location from there, but the timezone was still correct so kinda pointless.
Kinda crazy using a degoogled phone, privacy browser, VPN, never logged into any type of big tech and it still shows enough info to track you across the web easily.
