Well, I'm struggling to archive it, but there's a report in Axios that Noem thinks she's being hung out to dry, the orders came directly from Miller, and the rats might be ready to start eating each other.

These are not signs of strength. I get that Trump and the Gestapo are putting on a brave front, and your political leadership has to be driven like cattle to do anything - but this is weakness, and you must ruthlessly exploit it. More disruptions, strikes, protests.
So what’s good alternative to Firefox?
I need something for Windows and iOS and it should sync passwords. Ideally not Chromium-based and obviously no AI slop.
@thomasfuchs Libre Wolf has been a good fork of Firefox; it mostly just strips all of the privacy incursions that Mozilla has made in the last decade (including AI stuff) and adds some more anti-fingerprinting settings that can be easily turned off

If you consider going to the US, whatever the reason, don’t, for your own safety.
If you consider organizing an event to the US for an international community, you’re putting people’s lives at risk.
If you want an English-speaking environment for an international event, pick Canada or the UK. Heck, even in Scandinavian countries everyone speaks English.
plenty of places to go, new zealand, australia, canada, ireland ...
Back in late 2023, I said of TVNZ
"If left to limp along as a for-profit, the few really useful things it still owns (free-to-air broadcast infrastructure, studios, etc) are at risk of neglect and asset stripping."
https://disintermedia.net.nz/reimagining-public-media-in-aotearoa/
What I didn't know at the time was that the broadcast infrastructure is actually owned by a different SOE, Kordia.
But the cancellation of Fair Go and other flagship TVNZ shows was an example of what I meant.
@BOOKHOUSE It's a cheap Chinese knock-off, bought in a hurry right before EU design copyrights came in and banned them (at which point Herman Miller jacked up the price of the real thing to eye-watering levels, of which approximately 0% goes to the original designers—who are deceased—or their relatives).
@cstross aah. Makes more sense than a painfully expensive chair. Cat likes it… So, it does its job well.

Yes I have used Claude to orchestrate the development of #indiekit from @paulrobertlloyd
I have made a few plugins and then the entire development of a #microsub endpoint for indiekit (6K line of code) based on the excellent #ekster wiki and inspired by https://github.com/pstuifzand/ekster
I actually did what I said I was going to do, I started writing regularly again.
I've written over 21,000 words since the beginning of the year. (More like 28,000, but who's counting?)
(it's me, I'm counting)
@nighttimeapparition Very cool! Congratulations
This is going around BlueSky, figured why not bring it over here?

Finally! Dutch parliament votes not to spend billions on a few extra lanes for highway A27 near Utrecht, at the expense of our centuries old Amelisweerd park. It was a useless, expensive, damaging and risky project.
Maintenance of highways and railways is a good proposed use of the money freed up.

In Denmark there is a law that social animals like horses may not be kept alone. But unfortunately, the law only covers farm animals.
In a not so distant future, being serviced by a human will be exclusively for the wealthy, and everyone else will meet the bots.
I worry for the elderly, who will lose their last bit of daily social contact when AI takes over.
And that includes you and me, if we do not make it a human right to live in a real social context with other real human beings.
@randahl I honestly don't think it's ever gonna get to that point, seeing the state of what passes for AI these days. Plus the fact that much of it is operated by exploited workers from the other side of the world
@dymaxion Yep. By not rolling back Bush's reign of misrule, he cemented it. And the Overton Window's slide from 2000-2008 was made permanent. (After the original slide rightwards under GHWB and then Clinton, building on Reagan's policies.)

Listen, I can't stress this enough - they're all Nazis; but Miller is the guy with the plan. Personally, I think toppling the whole regime is on the table if you make the capitalist class scream hard enough. But there can be no peace, so long as Miller stays.
Also, all of these people need to be charged, but you will probably force their resignations before that. So I guess that's a convo for another day.
Ramping up the disruption and economic penalties till you get Miller, at least, is vital.
