@aburka I tried but nah it goes all the way to the top, and w3c staff send intimidation in response to dissent, so not worth it for most. The time to stop it was the last 2.5 years of discussion and conspicuous lack of consensus. that was all after w3c staff told insiders at TPAC 2023 off minutes “send me a charter and I’ll get the WG started right away”.
It’s not up to us or even AP editors, none of whom have supported this.
It’s up to the W3C CEO and board.

@virtualbri This was one of the aspects of film effects work (even back in my day) that I found more than a bit disconcerting. An awful lot of work often by an awful lot of people for a creation that in a typically very short time will be yesterday's news. Not like, say, building a suspension bridge. Or even a sewer line. You know what I mean.
@lauren Yeah totally. It's so ephemeral. But I also don't have to worry about anyone's lives in making VFX. "No babies will live or die based on what this spaceship does." :)

@derek Composing a comprehensive allowlist, we stopped using the word whitelist a while ago, depends on a lot of things. First of all, where are you located? Britain, Canada, France?
A good starting point can be the TV-channels you children watch. Check out all the websites related to programmes on those channels and go from there.

Crazy the way TV and filmmaking work: In a few days something I've been working on for over 18 months will finally be out and in 9 weeks will be finished already.
Those kind of numbers still get me, even after decades of this.
