Once again, I'm thinking about the possibility of creating a collaboratively maintained pool of data about fediverse software projects, working with the Free Software Directory and the WikiData team.
A data pool could used to keep SFD entries and Wikipedia articles about them up-to-date. As well as serving as a reference for software lists on reference sites like fediverse.party, joinfediverse.wiki, and delightful.coding.social (formerly delightful.club).
🔚 Self-driving cars, drones hijacked by custom road signs
「 The researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and Johns Hopkins showed that, in simulated trials, AI systems and the large vision language models (LVLMs) underpinning them would reliably follow instructions if displayed on signs held up in their camera's view 」

🪦 Tesla is committing automotive suicide | Electrek
「 In a single call, Tesla announced it’s killing the Model S and Model X, has no plans for new mass-market models, and is pivoting entirely to “transportation as a service.” The company that revolutionized the auto industry is walking away from it, not because it failed, but because Elon Musk got bored and found new toys 」

💥 Musk says Tesla is moving Full Self-Driving to a monthly subscription
「 FSD, which starts at $99 per month, is key to the future of the company as Musk tries to establish Tesla as a leader in autonomous mobility. The one-time price was $8,000. Tesla’s FSD requires a human driver at the wheel, ready to steer or brake at any time, and does not turn the company’s vehicles into self-driving cars 」

「 Waymo vehicles were not stopping for school buses that had their crossing guard and stop sign deployed.
The Austin ISD has been in communication with Waymo regarding the violations, which it reports have occurred approximately 1.5 times per week during this school year. Waymo has informed them that software updates have been issued to address the issue.
However, in a letter dated November 20, 2025, the group states that there have been multiple violations since the supposed fix 」

When Tesla's FSD works well, it gets credit. When it doesn't, you get blamed

Come for the Tesla FSD 14.1 evaluation (the first I've seen for brand-new v14 release), stay for the comments discussion about turn signal protocol & rules in roundabouts across various countries.

「 Germany’s largest automobile club, ADAC, issued a public recommendation that Tesla drivers should carry emergency window hammers. In a statement, ADAC warned that retractable door handles could seriously hinder rescue efforts. Even trained emergency responders, it said, may struggle to reach trapped passengers. Tesla shows no intention of changing the design 」
Is the Free Software Directory sharing data with the F-Droid app list and vice-versa? Helping both stay up-to-date. How about WikiData entries for software under free licenses?
It strikes me there could be directory sites similar to the F-Droid one for libre Android, specializing in other OS. Or software across all OS platforms for particular use cases (multimedia, office use, etc). All of which could have 2-way data-sharing with both FSD and WD.
