cyclist friends and other hi vis enjoyers, I'm in the market for some green reflective tape that works well on round smooth surfaces that will probably take a beating, any recs for good ones? ideally a limey, yellow-green, but not Too yellow as some i've seen. even more ideal if its sold in canada but i'm willing to buy online if not, just not from amazon
@foss_events do you specifically focus only on europe or are there plans to include events from all around the world?
im hoping other events around the world would be included on ur site so theres a one stop shop for finding events nearby 🙂
That is a pretty good idea and indeed something we like to offer in the future. However, we are currently not having enough woman-power to maintain more events than Europe ...

Funding needs to stop feeding pointless #techchurn. That means composting the common sense side of the #geekproblem: the same people, funding loops, fashions and failing approaches reinforcing each other in a circle of decay.
It's hard to keep shoveling this mess because the system keeps reproducing itself. That's why #OMN use composting as the metaphor.
It hasn't worked yet, but composting takes time, and you can't grow anything new while endlessly only feeding the old shit.

The article gives me no idea who you are talking about or any indication of how Mastodon has anything to do with why this is on the front page of the Guardian. (Yes, there exist famous people who are on Mastodon and every so often they do things that make the front pages of major outlets. This says approximately nothing about Mastodon's reach).
So I guess I am missing the point.
