Funding needs to stop feeding pointless #techchurn. That means composting the common sense side of the #geekproblem: the same people, funding loops, fashions and failing approaches reinforcing each other in a circle of decay.
It's hard to keep shoveling this mess because the system keeps reproducing itself. That's why #OMN use composting as the metaphor.
It hasn't worked yet, but composting takes time, and you can't grow anything new while endlessly only feeding the old shit.
