There are about a dozen (!!) active Task Forces, working on a broad spectrum of protocols, vocabularies, conventions, best practices and the like all centered around the core ActivityPub standard.

I am back, what did I miss.

@evan Not really, I don't have a regular job on any day but Thursdays so the only thing which changes for me is no access to my post office box on Monday.

I'm going to spend it heading from Massachusetts (sister's place) to Vermont (home) after being away for two weeks.

One of the problems with the way techno-libertarians conceive of rights is there's a trickle-down theory at play. Whether a large firm has fair use rights or not has little bearing on whether or not I do.

And I certainly don't want to put resources of mine into helping a business that itself benefits tremendously from IP existing.

Thinking that something is "a step in the right direction" when there are multiple possible directions is slippery slope fallacy but optimistic.

Connections is a sick, twisted, Sisyphean game of nightmares and despair, made only for the most morally degenerate and masochistic of word perverts.

@lauren if they weren't fragile, would they kiss up to Trump? They're held aloft by a bubble and it's a long drop.

It feels like they have access to the levers of power, but if they really did, they would be running things their way, not submitting to humiliating loyalty tests that threaten to alienate them from their consumer base.

Remember corporate feudalism (what they want) is bland smiles and functioning propaganda. What we're seeing is loud and crude, as a reminder who holds the whip.

He most certainly did: Malcolm Kenyatta. But, "progressives" decided to support the guy who had used a shotgun to threaten a Black jogger, and Kenyatta finished third (with Conor Lamb, a centrist, in second).
