BtrFS is called such since it builds heavily upon BTrees. So what are BTrees, & how well would they suite our string-centric CPU?
Its a harddrive/cache friendly datastructure implementing a large ordered dictionary, thus speeding up looking up values by their keys or key-range. Which stays fast regardless of how you throw data into it.
Each page of a BTree stores an ordered sequence of keys & the subtrees between them. The final row (or all nodes) store the corresponding values.

I've head that there's an even better structure called, iirc, B+trees? Bcachefs uses them.
(They're not in ZFS or btrfs because they were invented more recently than those)

Explanation: Some 60 million light-years away in the southerly constellation Corvus, two large galaxies are colliding. Stars in the two galaxies, cataloged as NGC 4038 and NGC 4039, very rarely collide in the course of the ponderous cataclysm that lasts for hundreds of millions of years. But the galaxies' large clouds of molecular gas and dust often do, triggering furious episodes of star formation near the center of the cosmic wreckage. Spanning over 50 thousand light-years, this stunning telescopic frame also reveals new star clusters and matter flung far from the scene of the accident by gravitational tidal forces. The remarkably sharp ground-based image, follows the faint tidal tails and distant background galaxies in the field of view. The suggestive overall visual appearance of the extended arcing structures gives the galaxy pair, also known as Arp 244, its popular name - The Antennae.

@aral I thought you might like to know that I called Malcolm Byrne's office yesterday, after a little bit of digging. I didn't speak to him directly:
- I asked if Mr. Byrne is aware of the abhorrent contradiction between his embrace of AI in education and his role as a Climate and Environment spokesperson for Fianna Fáil.
- I questioned why Mr. Byrne is choosing to ignore key information from the committee he chairs. Specifically, on November 18th, a speaker named Dan McQuillan spoke in the committee of how AI in education would be detrimental to truth and democracy. - I asked if he is aware of the large, organized resistance to the uncritical adoption of AI in education. His comments suggest that teachers are uninvolved or unaware.
- I raised the issue of his conversations with data center developers, such as Echelon, in his constituency. I wanted to know if his support for AI in education is linked to these business interests.
- I also challenged the framing of his comments. While the article presents his views as those of the committee chair, I informed his office that I have records from other committee members, including Paul Murphy TD, indicating that these statements do not represent the actual views of the committee.

See, there's a bunch of different ways you can Do Solar, depending on how Into It you wanna get. I'm typically on the raccoon end of the spectrum y'know, scavenge parts and cobble together and try to do it all on the cheap, which would normally rule out the sort of all-in-one inverter/chargecontroller/battery devices that rich folk go for. These are devices where you literally just plug solar panels in, keep your voltage below the max, and it does it all for you with an app, you don't have to know anything.
But. Big part of my use case was, frankly, next time there's a massive storm and half my mates are without power for days at a time and they need their freezer to get cold and their phone to get hot, I wanna be able to chuck a thing in the car, wheel it over, give them a couple cycles and take it back to get charged up in the sun again, and that ain't happening with the sort of screwed-into-a-big-plywood-board system I'd initially been thinking about. Plus I'd saved some money on the actual panels by finding a bloke who's upgrading all his, so the panels I'm getting are gonna be big and old and heavy and blue and not very efficient for their size but very very very cheap.
