I'd love boosts on this, or folks to drop me a line if they want access 🙇♂️
@phildini just FYI "minimum" is preferable to "basic" as it results in less discussion to clarify meaning. Everyone immediately understands what "minimum" means: food, shelter, healthcare. "Basic" is all over the place... good luck defining that.

*More than 200 environmental groups demand halt to new US data centers.* Canada's environmental realism *Canada's environmental "realism" looks more like surrender.* Plutocratist's favorites refrain is, "Be realistic -- don't aim for the change that would suffice for survival."

#Linux maintainers are already using #AI with the Linux kernel. AI programming, however, will take longer.
The problem isn’t the metric itself, it’s whether you’ve internalized the metric as part of your identity.
If you think of yourself as “someone who writes 500 words per day,” missing a day becomes an identity crisis…

@DaojoanIf every drop of rain was your smile, I would like it to rain heavily, so that there is no room for unhappiness in your life. Many people will come into your life, but only a true friend will leave their footprints. I will love to know you more. Hope you don’t mind.

@azonenberg @poleguy @dalias also notice that the attitude of user-as-threat applies outside the enterprise context, and is the rationale for sandboxes, no-root devices, etc

We all know the pitch is just that you no longer have to write. They want to be the infrastructure for entities to "create content" (derogatory)
GEMINIDS PEAK THIS WEEKEND
The best meteor shower of 2025 peaks Dec 12–13 and 13–14 as Earth passes through debris from rock-comet 3200 Phaethon. Real talk: it’s not a downpour—expect 1–2 meteors per minute if you’re patient. Spend 30 minutes under dark skies between 10 pm–2 am and you’ll likely catch bright streaks or a fireball. Bonus: Jupiter joins the show. More info: https://spaceweather.com/

I relistened to Decoder Ring Theatre Showcase season2 last night!
This season was a bit of a hodge-podge of stories, but I do enjoy the meta-level comedy of Slick Bracer Private Investigator! As well as the Buck Rogers-inspired "Deck Gibson: Far Reach Commander", about a defector from the fascist Earth space-military who joined an aid & exploration organization called "The Far Reach Fleet".
Also there's a standalone story suggesting that movies need a human sacrifice to bring them to life...
In case you missed it, in November I made "IT 2: They/Them" a sequel to Stephen King's IT in which Pennywise is going through a bad breakup and approaches the Losers Club for help retrieving its record collection from its ex, They/Them. It's an open world turn-based puzzle platformer and takes about an hour to finish.
You can play it for free on itch: https://twinbeard.itch.io/it2/

@cheeaun Yeah, only the absolute path. It's enough to paste into Claude Code and it knows what to do. It's super handy when you want to refer to a few pages/screenshots or parts of a page within the same prompt.

I am probably getting old, but the idea to cram in lots of events in Brussels the entire week before FOSDEM is not getting my thumbs up. Or well, you can have them but I won't be there.
A regular FOSDEM already wears me out on its own. Being at the European Open Source Awards on the Thursday before FOSDEM is stretching it but I will do it.
Adding *more* events to my agenda that week would probably kill me.
Did I mention I'm old? Leave me alone.
@bagder 😊
