Sorry guys, I know it's mainstream but #DWTS Elaine has been remarkable and I am so proud of her; a few weeks back her dance performance nearly brought me to tears, which isn't a phrase I think I've ever uttered before.
This is the first season I've ever watched, and it has been a very impressive season.
I just have to refrain from licking the TV screen when Robert Irwin appears
Apropos of defense. In my last blog post, I mentioned that poisoned URLs got the bots that evaded the rest of my defenses.
Thing is, if I blocked poisoned URLs, like I did during the big wave the other day, the chart would look very different.
Like the attached image.
Poisoned URLs are by far the most effective ruleset I have. The only reason they don't show up on @iocaine's daily charts is because I wanted to see the others, so I ordered these last.
If I were going for best performance, I'd put this first, and would perhaps simply disconnect them with Caddy, without serving them anything. I don't do that, because I'm collecting logs and metrics. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy that they fail so miserably.
What I'm trying to say here is: serve them garbage. Serve them poisoned URLs. And even when they come back with real browsers, they will be hitting the poisoned URLs, and you'll be able to tell them to sit on a cactus.
type of guy who makes up type of guy jokes as a process of understanding themself as both an individual as well as a member of society
@lety @purplepadma Maybe I'm just old, but 69 (nice) will always be the funniest number
@catsalad @lety @purplepadma My lil' bro (born 10 years after me) was born in 1969. So when I went to college I got him a jersey with 69 on it.
My mother kinda explained.
But later I got to explain to my mother what a d1ld0 was :P
I just heard from a grad student that there is an "LSD Sort" (which is a much cooler name for radix sort)
I had my version of a banana cost version today.
It's an MSRP version of the GPU, how long could it possibly be?
Turns out just shy of 13" which required some slightly creative installation.
Iirc, NY symphony made a big deal about switching to 'blind' auditions for DEI purposes, but had to quietly end the practice because their percentage of white guy hires went up dramatically 🤷♀️
@rostovtzeff You made your account yesterday just to post that?
@martyn That's great news!
If the devil is so bad then how come his cake is so good?
@Alice His eggs aren't anything to sneeze at etiher.
Regarding copyright... While I do find the excessively long time it takes for a copyright to expire highly questionable, I find I don't feel that strongly about repealing it. Unlike many of the techies around me.
What I do want to repeal is the provisions against breaking "effective technological protections"! The art I want to enjoy should not limit the software I use to do so! That's anti-competitive.
And it really doesn't do anything for workers' rights.
@alcinnz DRM via the CFAA and DMCA is precisely an example of the cynical misuse of copyright. corporations do not have rights—those are extremely strong legal protections reserved for individuals. human labor implies labor rights for these reasons. DRM, like patents, does not protect labor—they protect profit. both of them are directly intended to produce a monopoly over a product category.
