@martyn That's great news!
If the devil is so bad then how come his cake is so good?
@Alice His eggs aren't anything to sneeze at etiher.
Regarding copyright... While I do find the excessively long time it takes for a copyright to expire highly questionable, I find I don't feel that strongly about repealing it. Unlike many of the techies around me.
What I do want to repeal is the provisions against breaking "effective technological protections"! The art I want to enjoy should not limit the software I use to do so! That's anti-competitive.
And it really doesn't do anything for workers' rights.
@alcinnz DRM via the CFAA and DMCA is precisely an example of the cynical misuse of copyright. corporations do not have rights—those are extremely strong legal protections reserved for individuals. human labor implies labor rights for these reasons. DRM, like patents, does not protect labor—they protect profit. both of them are directly intended to produce a monopoly over a product category.
Some British Columbia

Thinking about trying OpenBSD for use as a firewall. Has anyone else done this? Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks everyone for the advice! I greatly appreciate it!

The number of articles that tell people with ADHD that they need to have a routine, without explaining how to do that or acknowledging the challenges of routines with ADHD honestly frustrates the hell out of me
FFS. For the first time, non-citizens will be charged a hefty surcharge to enter US national parks (an extra $100/person, and annual passes for noncitizens will cost $250 instead of $80).
Our national parks are absolute jewels, and a significant contributor to US tourism. Or were.

@mattblaze what the actual hell???

Earlier today, I stepped outside and a crow off in the distance began yelling its head off. My first thought was that I had triggered the squawks, immediately followed by: "Don’t be silly MKB, that bird is a long way away. It's not always about you."
Then I noticed the squawks were getting steadily louder. Sure enough, Loudbirb kept coming closer and alit upon the wire overhead, keeping at it for a bit longer.
@Ilka4You in that case, I suggest hitting like on the existing reply you agree with. This documents consensus equally well.
@TheBreadmonkey I honestly pictured Harrison Ford 'running' around dragging an oxygen tank when they announced they were making another movie 😅😂

@Npars01 11% is more than it should be; the claim is provably false.
