Facebook/Meta are now demanding a monthly fee from owners of Facebook Pages to post links to outside sites:

https://www.socialmediatoday.com/news/facebook-pages-get-charged-for-link-posts/830743

The monthly fee Meta are demanding for posting links on Facebook Pages is quite astonishing:

US$50 per month for 8 links
US$150 per month for 20 links
US$500 per month for unlimited links

This is many times more than the cost of running your own website, cloud and social media server all put together. Independence is much cheaper and better.

The fact that a (demade) version of Myst can be played on the Atari 2600 blows my mind. http://deater.net/weave/vmwprod/myst_vcs/

@Yaku @Marco_DA_DiSera @NicholasLaney più seriamente, non mi ricordo se l'avevo già disegnato per voi o per qualcun'altro sul fediverso, ma ho giusto giusto appena ritrovato in giro

Imagine a park with a rule: “No vehicles in the park”.

Here's an interactive game asking you “OK what about [this]?”. Find out if you agree with most people about what that means!

The game was made to explore edge cases in content moderation, but the #OpenStreetMap project also tries to fit the world into boxes, and we often have this problem of trying to write universal rules.

Who funded the research? Which #grant supported it? What did that funding produce?

The #OpenAIREGraph is scaling how funding information is captured and connected, bringing together trusted sources, #PersistentIdentifiers & our own enrichment & validation workflows.

Better connections. Better context. Better research information.

Nidec shares have plummeted as much as 20% in Tokyo after the Japanese motor maker's auditor declined to give an opinion on its long-awaited financial statements. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/business/2026/10/01/markets/nidec-shares-sink/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #business #markets #nidec #investments #stocks

Society has done a really poor job of teaching people to enjoy learning how to do something, rather than just getting an outcome, huh?

The results from Dachau are already uploaded to FactGrid. One example is Johann Schaffer https://database.factgrid.de/wiki/Item:Q2111912

For the first time AroA published data as Linked Open Data 🎉

@LaurentChemla besoin d'aide ?

@jannem @piepants Apparently, it's stuff that we shouldn't be allowed to get but that 1.96% of us get. So, of course, instead of investigating why people get it (because some administrations allow it, probably) let's accuse the foreigners of stealing it, somehow.

@GustavinoBevilacqua questo è celebre. @ecate85 @frandemartino

@thomasfuchs @xan or an entire short film!

My colleague Alexander and I presented our project to generate person entities for the first time in Arolsen. So far we've c.60 million names in our database. But no entry is connected to another one even it is about the same person. We started with the collection of Dachau and continued with Buchenwald as these two concentration camps are those where a lot of documents have been preserved.

After a long period of thinking, we've opted to add bots on Block League. It's a long story so we've written an article
