Today’s #FinishorFrogAlong Q&A: what tips or tricks do you have for coping with your (or other people’s) blockers to getting projects done? Yesterday there were a few for dealing with time constraints. How about other blockers? ADHD / distraction? Injuries? Getting over not fun parts? Making decisions? Overcoming a lack of inspiration? #FoFAQandA #Handspinning #knitting #crochet #quilting #CrossStitch #sewing #embroidery #fiberArts #TextileArts #crafting

We need more possible answers for the barriers / blockers poll - popular write-ins were ADHD / AudHD; injury / health issues; distractions / new projects; missing tools or lack of supplies; hit a not-fun part; need a decision/design; lack of inspiration. We'll spend the next few days on tips for how we deal with challenges like these. #FinishOrFrogAlong #FoFAPoll #handspinning #knitting #FiberArts #crochet #quilting #crossStitch #crafting #embroidery #sewing #textileArts
@consumablejoy sorry for the late reply, but - I recently discovered [Raptitude](https://www.raptitude.com) and in particular his framing that:
- obstacles are doors
- a way to motivate oneself is to focus on the reward on the other side of the door
- the way to open that door (or knock it down, if necessary) is to [Just Do The Thing](https://www.raptitude.com/2026/05/how-to-just-do-a-thing/)
It seems blindingly obvious, but for my ADHD it's incredibly powerful. He has a free [Fix One Thing](https://snow-city-media-raptitude.kit.com/8ec669c986) course that gives simple, detailed instructions for *how* to do a thing, and I find myself going back to it a lot when I'm blocked due to brain weasels!
