@Tutanota using murena /e/OS with Nextcloud and its built-in contact, calendar and tasks apps which integrate nicely with Nextcloud, FairEmail as e-mail client (sorry tuta), Joplin for notes. Very important: Keepass2android on a Nextcloud database file for use from PC and mobile.
@Tutanota once again I ask that names be included with logos when showing alternatives.
@Tutanota I currently use:
- @nextcloud for #file #storage
- #Posteo for e-mail
- @joplinapp@mastodon.social @joplinapp@sopuli.xyz, @zettlr, and #paper for #notes
- #Everdo for to-do lists (although I've suspected for a while that #GTD isn't all it's cracked up to be and am looking for a better alternative)
- @libreoffice and occasionally in-browser Nextcloud for #office software
- I avoid #AI most of the time for personal use, making an exception when I have to correspond with the #bureaucracy. Although tbh even this use of AI makes me uneasy.
#filestorage #cloudstorage #email #Nextcloud #Joplin #Zettlr #todo #todolist #todolists #LibreOffice #officesoftware
@Tutanota Is that the usual wana-be post or are you actually deliveing this time? (The last times you also made promises you were not able to keep)
@Tutanota Been running @nextcloud for all my "cloud" storage, calendaring, addressbook, notes with self-hosted mail for ages now. Obviously I don't use any so-called "AI" because I prefer to stay on the right side of history.
@Tutanota The only Microslop product I am currently stuck with is GitHub, and transitioning is really difficult, even though it has gone completely downhill. ForgeFed looks really promising, but it doesn't seem mature enough yet, and Codeberg has some limitations that I don't like. I am currently also working on getting rid of Android before 2027, January 1st, but I can't fully get rid of YouTube, as it is too much of a content silo. Sure, PeerTube exists, but there aren't enough videos on it yet to replace YouTube, unfortunately. I have been gradually replacing it with the Internet Archive, but it isn't as effective.
Also, as many pointed out, the logos are really hard to tell in this picture, as the trend is for everything to look almost identical to its competitor, and without context, or some text, I can't tell what 4, 5, and 6 are on the last row (I assume 2 and 3 are Tuta software) sadly, I know what every other logo is for, even without text.
@Tutanota switch away from big tech using our free step by step online courses:

We are the Rebel Tech Alliance.
@Tutanota well around here dissing the first row is considered blasphemy by many. Second row they will shit on all day long and third one begrudgingly. Then the last row, if you guys step a mm off their perceived enlightened path, they will immediately take up pitchforks.
@Tutanota name the alternatives,please
@Tutanota
I'm still looking for a web-based calendar that supports invitations and comes with an Android app... I'm open to paying for it
@Tutanota Hey, Tutanota works very well but I would like to use an alias.
@trilosapiens Hey! We offer alias email addresses in any of our paid plans. 😊
A notes solution for those who prefer local markdown files is @HelixNotes 🗒️
@Tutanota Extremely unhelpful graphic, wow.
@Tutanota I ordered a FairPhone running on e/OS recently. Hope it will arrive soon. And yes, I completely ditched Microsoft, and went full Linux.
@Tutanota Nextcloud can cover Cloud, Calendar and Notes.
@Tutanota I could really use a bridge for the mail. You've said previously you're against it for security reasons but let's be honest, if you only use a toml like /etc/tutabridge.toml for config, using keys that allow for send/receive/send+receive, you're only targeting people who know how to encrypt their drives. Fuck you can even check crypttab and/or zfs get keylocation to know if the drive(s) it will write data on is properly secured.
Anyway for now I'm pretty happy with your work!
@Tutanota Proton, Proton, Proton, LibreOffice
@Tutanota I tried self hosting nextcloud recently. While it has diverse features, it felt slow and clunky af
Also it would be great to get the name of the other softwares
@Tutanota I've had no problem with tutamail but it does need an app for Linux phones such postmarketos
@Tutanota i need to DeXbox too? 😭
@Tutanota
Mail > Tuta
Calenda > Tuta
Cloud > Tuta (Beta)
Windows > Linux (with lots of Open Source software)
Office > LibreOffice
Youtube > Freetube and Invidious
@Tutanota
There was an amazing lady who wrote a blog with step by step guide to regain privacy. I read it about 2 or 3 years ago. It took time to adjust. I didn't do as well with email but I did switch to MapQuest for navigation and a note app for tasks. I guess I didn't complete changing my calendar app either. I did use signal but couldn't get any of my friends or family to use it.
@Adventurer Hey! I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you give Tuta a try again. This isn't an issue now.
@Tutanota
So I'm having a problem. I'm sure I signed up for a free account. . But it's asking me for code to recover my account. I don't mind switching to a paid account to check it out. How do I get the code?
@Adventurer This is the recovery code you are meant t save when signing up for an account and its how you regain access if you forget your login credentials.... Feel free to sign up for a new account. :)
@Tutanota Google komplett weg, Tutamail revolucionary, ich warte auf Tuta Drive.
Libre Office, Proton, Bitdfender, Firefox, Signal usw...
@Tutanota What's that reminder app? I don't recognize the logo
