@rolle My experience was not quite as bad *in the beginning*. But errors kept piling up, for example, any bsky.app page would display a big "Sorry, you've cancelled your account, you can't view anything here! Would you like to uncancel? You have 30 days." warning. There was no way to log in to bsky anymore, even giving it my new mu.social login server address (which is eurosky.social, *not* mu.social). I think the thing sets some cookie marking your account as cancelled. But cancelling is *part* of the migration, so you should not uncancel!

I had to install the Firefox addon that replaces all bsky.app links with mu.social ones to get rid of it, as most of my machines seem to have had that cookie, making viewing anything on bsky impossible.

Meanwhile for the Masto migration, the most difficult question was "do you want to migrate followers or will you start fresh and notify people by hand?" or something like that.

I'm not super-impressed with bsky even on the best days. This just further cements my opinion tha Masto was/is the right choice.

@rolle I always thought a nerd was a rude reference to a scientist but I think the term has morphed into someone who is an expert in computer science. In the old days I was a nerd today I'm just an ordinary person and your description of migrating from Bluesky to Europe makes me feel weak. I'll have to have a little sit down.
