@matt do I understand correctly that to host mastodon server for 30 people you need to pay around 210 euros monthly?

@grayrattus Not quite. We have over 2,500 user accounts and 230 active users in the past month and have been running since 2019.

So we're storing about 7 years of peoples posts, videos and images, in addition to the most recent posts of everyone that the 2500 users are following.

If you were setting up a new mastodon server for 30 people, it would be an awfully lot cheaper - you could pay about $4 per month using @fedihost and cost increases as the years go on and members increase.
