@mastodonmigration Until today I personally didn't know Bluesky's default algorithmic timeline (the "Discover" feed) is also powered by a secret black box closed source algorithm.

Another red flag for me with how much has been talked about the problematic nature of algorithmic social media and not being able to tell what exactly goes into what the algorithm decides to boost.

There's zero information behind who is enabling them, so how are they trustworthy?

Bluesky: 41m+
Don't get me wrong, I use both and I like Mastodon, but if reach is important then I've found Bluesky better. I prefer the *tone* of Mastodon.

@mastodonmigration "500 characters *and more*" is not true unless you discount the fact that everybody has to patch it to achieve this. Then again, fair enough, Bluesky *is* harder to patch!
