It's kinda funny that this effect is similar to one effect of being drunk. It seems to me to be one of the most beneficial effects of being drunk, too. At the same time I don't know anyone who's apprehensive of drinking alcohol _for that reason_.

I wonder whether the important distinction between this blessed-vel-cursed sword and a pint of beer is how sudden the effect is, who actually voices the embarrassing fact, or something else.

@robryk @MicroSFF there's definitely a big difference between "you accidentally say a thing about yourself" and "you're anticipating someone/thing else saying a thing about you"
