It requires interrogating how that myth has shaped your identity, your fears, your relationships, your understanding of safety and power. It requires relinquishing the need to lead, to be comfortable, to be praised for “doing the work.”
It requires humility.
Your support is not a favor.
It is your payment for being in community with people who possess the knowledge, skills, and courage to lead the way toward a more just future.
There is no version of your liberation that does not require dismantling the systems that privilege you at someone else’s expense. There is no fight for a supremacy-, coercion-, discrimination-, or exploitation-free future that leaves you untouched.
So this work cannot be about “allyship.”
Allyship implies distance.
It implies choice.
It implies that you can opt in and out depending on comfort.
This is work for co-conspirators.
Co-conspirators understand that they gain or lose based on collective effort.
They know their well-being is bound up with the well-being of the most vulnerable. They prioritize and elevate the voices, issues, and leadership of those most impacted.
Not as charity, but as strategy and truth.
For white folx, this requires something deeper than solidarity statements and book clubs.
It requires actively working against the internalized indoctrination of the myth of white supremacy.
It requires interrogating how that myth has shaped your identity, your fears, your relationships, your understanding of safety and power. It requires relinquishing the need to lead, to be comfortable, to be praised for “doing the work.”

A future that frees you from being complicit in the infliction of harm that supremacy demands.
If you are still asking how little you can do and still be considered “good,” you are not ready.
If you understand that your humanity is incomplete while others are oppressed, and that we get there together or not at all, then welcome.
But “allies”?
Need not apply.
