I just received my first ever desk-reject from an academic journal.

The article:
- had a robust methodology
- was well written
- had clear and relevant findings
- was presented at a major conference
- took 3 profs and 2 grad students a year to research

@aram What was the reason? Not in the scope of the journal? Not enough general interest? I was once told by a #remotesensing journal to submit my Opinion piece to an #ecology journal because the readers of their journal already knew the issues I was pointing out, but the ecologists knew too, and I wanted to direct my words, from an ecologist, to the RS people. I have also been told a Commentary piece was not in the scope of the journal, when I was commenting on a paper in their journal. WTAF?

@scogings They didn’t provide a reason, and it’s well within the scope of the journal. 🤷🏻‍♂️
