Hey, #Canada. The US is sending its homeland state police, ICE, to the Olympics in Milan. Do they expect to send ICE to the #FIFA #WorldCup matches in #Vancouver? Let’s get out ahead of this now. Email and call city councillors and your MP. https://cityhallwatch.wordpress.com/city-hall/contact-officials/ (revise form of Orr and Maloney emails to match CLR format) https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en/search?view=tile please boost for reach

Councillors Sean Orr and Pete Fry have a motion before council on Feb 25. Proposition: ban ICE from #Vancouver during the FIFA World Cup here. If you are in Vancouver, please support the motion.

“[City Counsellor and Green Party mayoral candidate Pete] Fry noted there are already ICE personnel in Vancouver working with the U.S. Consulate, but suggested many residents would object to agents being deployed during the World Cup.”
I’m sorry, what?
Not enough to boost this: it should be added to this thread. Hey, #Canada, #ICE has offices here, including in #Vancouver. They “conduct criminal investigations to protect the [US]. . . from dangerous transnational organizations like terrorist groups and drug cartels.” ICE agents here also “help. . . track and detain known and potential terrorists before they can carry out attacks against the United States and its allies.”
“Detain.”
“Terrorists.”
“And its allies.”
