I'm choosing to use this response to today’s “I Want To Speak To White Women Directly” prompt as a teachable moment.

Please capitalize the "B" when referring to Black people...Blackness is a culture and community; not merely a color/hue

AP says it will capitalize Black but not white:

IMO white urgency is pure panic. That fear of “am I next?”, “will it be my family??”. The same fight or flight fear that gets a fast response but zero ability to sustain. I am reading and reading so I can learn how to be reliable. Seeking out black owned businesses. Donating to Jasmine’s campaign. Actively combatting the myth a black woman can’t win in Tx. She can! And listening. Really listening. Got a long way to go. Open to learning.
