Your faith that being “a white good person” and not like them, is enough.

Whiteness was built to function without your consent.

It’s the operating system you were born into.

One that rewards compliance and punishes disruption.

It scripts your behavior, shapes your institutions, and trains you to see its outcomes as “normal.”

So when I ask, how do you feel knowing that whiteness requires your complicity, I’m really asking…what are you willing to do now that you know?

While my community worked to find ways to engage with systems, institutions, and policies that were never designed to include us, white folx often, in greater numbers than I ever imagined, chose to double down on maintaining their unearned power and privilege by escalating the violence of white supremacy on themselves.

About rejecting the isolating norms of whiteness that tell you to compete instead of connect, to hoard instead of share, to self-protect instead of co-create.
