As Tesla fundamentally pivots away from selling electric cars in favor of robots, I’m thinking of the conversation I had with @niedermeyer back in September titled “Is Tesla Still a Car Company?”

@parismarx @niedermeyer It was never a car company. It has always been an IT hypecycle company. Anyone reading this, strongly advised to stay away from them.

Tesla needs to cut production.
Closing factories would burst their bubble (no longer being a growth stock would crash their value ).

Claiming that the closed factories will actually build "physical AI" is just chasing the next bubble to maintain the growth stock illusion.

But really, Tesla had no choice. They couldn't keep making unsold cars, and any other excuse would destroy them.

@parismarx @niedermeyer robots lol. Good luck with all that. Still waiting for the fully self-driving cars we were promised. Also, I'd like a jetpack thrown in for our troubles at this point.. https://blog.codinghorror.com/the-2030-self-driving-car-bet/
