I couldn’t be happier or prouder, and it's all thanks to a spare-time open-source project.
Someone just shared that they created their own version of Leave X - Protect Democracy, mapping Canadian politicians on the Fediverse. 🇨🇦✨
After restarting the project a few days ago and adding statistics about European politicians on X, I was surprised when someone contributed data from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 in less than 24 hours.
A few days later, an anonymous contributor used the power of open data to send data from Austria 🇦🇹. Recently, someone from Sweden 🇸🇪 has joined in as well.
This is what open source looks like: distributed, collaborative, and driven by shared values.
This weekend, I'll be at FODESM, where I hope to speak with politicians and tell them, loud and clear:
