We will be honest and say that for a small to medium organisation, their are more up front costs to a more open infrastructure.
There's more upfront costs e.g. discovery, communications, quotes, setup. We're a small co-op so we don't have the same amount invested in automation as big tech.
However these costs balance out over the long term as you don't get locked into the tiers and paywalling of big providers where as soon as you hit a certain scale they tighten the screws and start trying to get real money out of you.
That's how big tech work, they set themselves up using loads of capital, hook in the small fishes for free or cheap to get market dominance then once folks are locked into their workflows, they go for the big clients.
Stop playing their game! There is a different way.
