"In a supermarket world where Amazon owns Whole Foods, and private equity investors own Safeway and Albertsons, Rainbow Grocery Cooperative in San Francisco has succeeded by sticking to what its founders envisioned 50 years ago.
"The San Francisco supermarket was founded in 1975 by activists of the People's Food movement. They formed a worker-owned collective that sold local, organic food in bulk. Fifty years later, that mission lives on."

B Corps Are One Piece of a Complex Puzzle
“We needed a differentiator, ” says SSG’s Emi Do. “And unfortunately, our status as a worker co-op doesn’t communicate to the municipalities and regions and states that are reviewing our proposals what our values are and how we are unique in our approach to doing business, and so we needed to have something that demonstrated that.”

It's early days and the project is still in beta but we have published an early version of a @coopcloud recipes (https://git.coopcloud.tech/coop-cloud/lasuite-docs) that makes it easier to deploy Docs for smaller organisations (the La Suite deployment has apparently approx 15,000 users).
We are offering managed Docs instances with full support provided by us. Hosted in the EU by a worker owned tech co-operative.
No bosses, no CEOs and we pay all our taxes.
Hi folks, we have received feedback about the pricing for our docs.coop instance hosting.
We have decided to drop the price to 30 GBP per month for a small Docs instance.
This comes with an Single Sign On oauth server (such as Keycloak or Authentik).
We think this represents excellent value and will hopefully be enough to support us making this exciting open source Google docs competitor available for the people.
We can offer additional paid support on top of this to integrate further into your existing infrastructure.
Unlock collaborative document editing without the oligarchs.
pls

Wow 210 boosts and 196 favs. Thank you all so kindly
We had some enquiries in via email and we finally settled on some initial offerings for this beta phase of the project:
First is an instance of your own on an EU based server, which we maintain for you with the latest updates.
You get full access to everything and essentially unlimited users and the option to use external oauth Single Sign On.
This will be 50 GBP per month (with a minimum commitment of 3 months). This is the longer term option that is most supportive of this initiative.
We don't think we can continue this pricing indefinitely so in a slightly 🧀 y sales pitch, we're guaranteeing this for our first 10 or so customers.
Second option: we will setup a demo instance which we will use for testing and we can provide multiple user account.
However this be wiped nightly and won’t have any expectation of uptime and will also be shared with other interested folks.
It would be great if you could make a one off donation of 70 GBP to contribute towards the costs of us spinning this up.

Building on the great work of Suite Numerique (https://docs.numerique.gouv.fr/home/), we are offering an opportunity to be part of a new collaborative Docs platform as a service, that provides an ethical alternative to Google Docs, Office 365, Notion etc.
Docs is the result of a joint effort lead by the French 🥖 (DINUM) and German 🥨 (ZenDiS) governments which represents a paradigm shift in the way open source software is funded.
