Beneath a whitewashed late afternoon sky, we are standing on an old dried up lake bed of cracked pinkish beige packed sand. To our left is an olive colored shrub. Ahead are two large dunes of that same pinkish beige sand piled high above our heads. There are ripples and creases along parts of the dunes, carved by the winds that formed them.
