Being able to retroactively change who can quote post you is great, but I wish I could change the visibility of already published posts as well...

Ok, back to initial thoughts on #Pixelfed:
I initially tried to register to pixelfed.social, but it took two days to get approved. In the meantime, I registered for gram.social
👍🏿 Liked:
- Can view photo-containing posts from other fedi/AP instances
- Can follow hashtags
👎🏿 Didn't like:
- Suffers from the same missing posts syndrome as Mastodon (maybe this is an ActivityPub thing?)
- There's no way to just peek into an instance and its posts like other fedi apps. How am I supposed to know what the vibes are like before joining?
- There are no photo editing functions on mobile (Android) -- not even a cropping tool... I tried both the official app and Pixelflix
That's about it tbh... Once I realized there was no way to crop photos in a post, it was a wrap. I might revisit the platform in a year, but I don't think I'll be using Pixelfed any time soon, and I'm not sure I would recommend it to friends on Instagram who know Meta is terrible, but don't really care about federation or open source apps.
