Implementing QuotePosts in Loops is taking a tad longer than expected.
I don't understand why they require a QuoteRequest handshake if the interactionPolicy is public, seems overengineered and wasteful to me.

Are there any plans to make the quotes visible to everyone, even those who are not logged in?
Since people are using quoted posts to add opinions, further context, sources, alt text and content warnings, I would really like to be able to see these in the same way that I can see who is boosting/faving a post, without being restricted by my server's mute/block list, etc.
Yeah I was watching it and wondering what its scope and content would be
#Gargron et al have always been suckers for mainstreaming Mastodon by adopting the most common eye-candy bling
(See, as one: #QuotePosts)
Right now I *could* download my 2025 Year-in-Review for Youtube, Twitch, Twitter, Github, etc etc
So here comes #Mastodon, always trying to stay up with All The Cool Kids
BTW I haven't seen that yet: is this on mobile of some sort?
Or it may be in the nightly that Masto dot Social is always running
*Edit*
Yeah, here it is: "End of the year recap # 22658"

This has been implemented and will be there for all users in Mastodon 4.6."

# Quote posts in Pachli Current
#Pachli Current now supports #quoteposts .
There are a number of design decisions here that are up for discussion and I do expect things will change over the next month or so in response to feedback.
A new #Pachli Current is rolling out with a handful of cosmetic changes and bug fixes for #quoteposts.
User visible changes are:
1. If your server allows quoting the "boost" button now also shows a pair of quotes.
2. Following feedback, the background colour for quotes/ preview cards in light mode is slightly darker and in dark mode is slightly lighter.

#Pachli Current now lets you set your account-level preference for who can quote your posts.
Open Account Preferences, and it's in the "Publishing" section, per the attached screenshot.

Now in #Pachli Current: viewing the "detailed" version of a post (the one you see after tapping on it) now shows -- next to the number of boosts and favourites -- the number of times the post has been quoted (if this is your post, Mastodon doesn't let you see this information for posts written by others).
Tapping that number will show you a timeline of those posts so you can see how you're being quoted, and, optionally, remove your quoted post from them.

#FediTips: If you're already sick of seeing quotes as replies to quotes with screenshots attached that show pending quotes in Mastodon you can go to settings > filters and make a filter with the word "RE: https://" and tick "whole word".
You're welcome.
If you're waiting for the #tusky timeline rewrite before new features arrive then you will probably enjoy #pachli, https://pachli.app.
You're already familiar with the UI, and there are countless quality of life improvements.
Well, not literally countless. I've listed some of them at https://gist.github.com/nikclayton/2244d5ce547706983ca9f79a76ebbabd
And #quoteposts at the end of this month.
