"No Trees in Iceland"

Thickly vegetated with rowan and birch, Trostansfjörður is a very isolated and peaceful place. Sunndalur was heavy with mist and low cloud when we visited but the autumnal colours were still clearly visible.

The fjord is thought to be named after Saint Drostan (sometimes spelled as Throstan) of #Scotland, a disciple of St. Columba.

The waterfall is unnamed.

Vesturbyggð, Westfjords of #Iceland.

A colour photo of a landscape crowded with trees and shrubs. The natural woodland is covering the hillsides which are misty in the distance. A small waterfall is dropping through a valley, only just perceived due to the low cloud and fog. The sky is grey but the colours shine through.
