This is what the myth of white supremacy looks like in real time.
This is what the myth of white male supremacy does when it wraps itself in a cross and calls itself “Christian values.”
It manufactures suffering.
It legislates shame.
It institutionalizes cruelty and then dares to call it “moral.”
Conservative Christianity, as it’s been weaponized in U.S. culture and politics, doesn’t just distort faith, it reinforces a hierarchy where white men stand closest to God, and everyone else exists to serve, obey, or disappear.
It creates environments where young queer and trans people learn early that they are unsafe, unloved, and unwelcome.
And when one of its champions falls, when even a single symbol of that supremacy is removed from power, we see, in real measurable terms, how many lives can begin to breathe again.
That is the human cost of these myths.
That is the harm of systems, institutions, and policies built to uphold them.
And that is why dismantling them is not just political work, or moral work…it is life-saving work.
