I've visited this location many times and one never really knows what to expect. It sits at right around 4,000 feet elevation (okay, technically 3,999 feet) which makes it a unique area in this part of West Virginia.

From blue skies, wind, rain, clouds, fog, and so on - I've seen it all up here. And even on the worst of mornings I have sometimes captured wonderful sunrises.

This is from one of my recent trips earlier this month.

A sunrise over a valley with textured rocks in the lower left of the frame, fall colored trees towards the right leading to the midground with layers of the valley beyond. The sun has the sunburst effect as it crosses the horizon with a light layer of clouds overhead.
