Fabio is the opposite of a Nazi and I am sick and tired of people WHO ARE OPPOSING A LITERAL GENOCIDE being perpetrated by Israel constantly having to defend themselves from accusations of antisemitism.

The dregs of humanity who are supporting, apologising for, and complicit in Israel’s genocide are the people and instances we should be blocking here not antifascists like Fabio who is spending his time trying to get aid to Palestinians on the ground in Gaza.

Ask yourselves what kind of person tries to have someone who is trying to get aid to people who are being starved blocked on the fediverse.

And then decide who should be blocked and who shouldn’t.

(And remember that history is watching.)

@aral @Flux I don’t know the guy and the block request sure seems to be reactionary BS, but also: the take he’s being dragged for is hella antisemitic. It conflates all Jews with the current Israeli government. The victims of the holocaust were not “Israel”, so arguing we should shut down memorials because the Israeli government is acting like they didn’t learn the lessons those memorials are intended to teach (a position I agree with!) makes no sense.

@aral @Flux It makes exactly as much sense as how seemingly every Arab or Muslim with a public identity was expected to spend all their time condemning Al-Qaeda for years following 9/11.

His “it wasn’t just Jews but they get all the attention” line is pretty troubling, too. Not only does it undercut his own rationale, but if’s a mighty close rhyme with what we hear from some pretty awful folks.

If you know the guy, I might advise suggesting a little reflection.

Zionists make such a big deal out of their Jewishness that I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Jewish people to publicly distance from them - its a holocaust. Especially when one of the main Zionist weapons is pressuring people into silence with public smears, false accusations, cancelling etc.

And while we're talking of how unfair it is to paint all Jews the same way - that's exactly what Zionists do. Or even deny that anti-zionist Jews are truly Jewish.

@aral Yes. The report for fediblock is blatantly distorting Fabio’s argument by claiming he’s calling for closing of all holocaust museums.

I read his arguments, and they clearly call for boycotts UNTIL they also condemn what is happening in Gaza right now.

This is spinsterism, very likely politically motivated, and should not have anything to do with reporting users for misconduct!

I’d like to know who the anonymous coward running the @8124@mastodon.social account is.

That person is defending Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people, slandering and attempting to silence voices that oppose it (and those trying to get aid to the Palestinian people), and generally apologising for and complicit in genocide all while maintaining their anonymity. If anyone should be losing their job, it’s that person, not Fabio.

Feel free to DM me for my Signal if you have any information as they should experience consequences for their actions.

@celesteh Dude, you apparently have the reading comprehension of a fifth-grader. Spend some time reading books until you learned to read before you call people like @fabio nazis.

You should apologize to @aral once you understood he was calling out the actual nazi who denies and defends an ongoing genocide whereas you attacked the two guys standing up for the victims of said genocide.

Because by calling Fabio antisemitic for his arguments you didn't understand, you are equating the supporters of genocide with all jews, and that makes you the biggest antisemite in this discussion.

@celesteh @aral @Mastodon I’m genuinely quite tired of having to defend myself from stuff I’ve never written, but I’ll try it one last time.

When I say “we shouldn’t buy oranges and dates from Israel unless we are reasonably confident that they were not grown on stolen land” would you react with a “oh are you telling me that I shouldn’t eat oranges?”

When I say “we shouldn’t allow Muslim education in our countries if they have suspicious ties with people from the Salafi movement or other hardcore religious groups that may pose a threat to the national security and cohesion” would you react with a “oh are you telling me that Muslims can’t read the Quran in your country?”

When I say “we should avoid supporting Holocaust foundations if they have IDF senior members sitting in their boards, if they haven’t taken a strong position against all genocides, including the one perpetrated right now by their own country, if they don’t even reinvest our money to keep their own records of the victims up-to-date, and if they betray their mission of peace by having social media content and tone comparable with that of an IDF general” would you react with “oh are you telling me that Jews can’t commemorate their own dead?”

Come on, stop insulting my intelligence and your own and don’t try to convince me that principles are supposed to be followed only when they don’t affect the people or topics that you’re biased towards.

@fabio @Mastodon Dear @celesteh, there’s a fucking genocide being perpetrated by fucking Israel and you’re spending your time putting words in people’s mouths who dare criticise it when Israel’s weaponised its definition of antisemitism for as long as it has existed – making Jewish people everywhere less safe as a result. Antisemitism is very real and this is not it. You know what’s antisemitic? Conflating criticism of a genocidal apartheid ethnostate with antisemitism. Basically saying to be against genocide is to be against all Jews. I can’t think of a worse antisemitic statement than one that says all Jews support genocide. And that’s what Israel is doing by conflating Zionism with being Jewish.

But anyway, I’m sick and tired of defending ourselves from slander. So fuck you.
