Not even about the potential #AI bubble burst, just normal 'sometimes companies fuck up and die' thoughts:
Imagine if #OpenAI (or #Anthropic, etc) beefs it hard and and they or their AI offerings fail.
Then imagine all these companies who are trying to shed staff by firing humans, shoe-horning in #GAI, and have put all their eggs in the ever-ballooning but still nowhere-near-profitable OpenAI basket.
Further imagine days where things simply don't work -- not because some internet giant has fucked up DNS again and not because workers didn't show up -- because OpenAI has an outage and all these virtual agents 'don't show up for work' or show up to work 'drunk', hallucinating after some update (remember the guy who talked a chatbot into a car for $1?).
We absolutely will at some point see, and to whatever degree depends on the success or failures of GAI companies, a marketing push by some companies, probably after some such epoch, saying things like 'talk to a real human' or 'we're a human-driven business'.
