Hiked up to Muir snowfield today; found a deep crack! My friend and I discussed our unused crevasse rescue skills and gratitude for not needing to use them. Our September turns are in!
Been doing a lot of backpacking recently, reaching some new sides of Tahoma (Rainier), Koma Kulshan (Baker) and a little in between. Im a bit behind on posts, but Ive been exploring some of the biggest glaciers and finding some of the oldest trees Washington state still has. More stories to come, seasons changing, new opportunities arising and the world has much to process. There is peace in the mountains. Hope you are finding it.

A narrow, dark water channel flows between two walls of glacial snow known as a crevasse. The crack appears quite deep, and its too dark to know how deep it is!
