It's amazing what #enshittification has done as far as forced #obsolescence goes. It's darn near impossible to browse the modern web with anything over 5 years old. Even word processors, including open source ones like LibreOffice and OnlyOffice chug on an Atom CPU.

These machines were perfectly capable not long ago. Now so much is slopped together by gluing huge libraries together that even a simple software package is hundreds of megs if not gigs.

R.I.P. efficient #coding. The #bloat from "vibe code" will be even more amazing.
