Still thinking about Germany growing too much potatoes and ending up with four thousand tonnes of potatoes that need eaten and setting up a website to distribute the potatoes because frankly they have too many potatoes and it's actually a problem how many potatoes there are in Germany and they need trucks to take the potatoes and mouths to eat the potatoes
@ifixcoinops When I took Yiddish the professor taught us this song to learn the names of the days of the week. In Yiddish, the Slavic "bulbe" (בולבע) is more common in some dialects (although "kartofl" [קאַרטאָפֿל] is also a word).
Zuntik, bulbes,
Montik, bulbes,
Dinstik un mitvokh, bulbes,
Donershtik un fraytik, bulbes,
Shabes in a novene—a bulbe-kugele!
Zuntik, vayter bulbes!
Sunday, potatoes,
Monday, potatoes,
Tuesday and Wednesday, potatoes,
Thursday and Friday, potatoes,
Shabes, for a change—a potato kugel!
Sunday, potatoes again!
